On-body vs. off-body concealed carry
On-body concealed carry is when the holster and firearm are secured close to your body and hidden beneath your undergarments.
For example, when I carry in a Kydex holster that’s clipped to my belt and sits between my body and my pants, that’s considered on-body carry.
Off-body carry is when the holster and firearm are secured away from your body and hidden in a bag.
If I put my firearm in my purse or range backpack, that’s considered off-body carry.
In my opinion, on-body is the best and safest way to carry concealed. It’s the fastest way to access your firearm and you don’t have to worry about being separated from it.
I choose on-body carry 99.5% of the time, and I’m not opposed to off-body carry in certain situations. It has its place, and as long as you’re willing to practice drawing, it can be a good enough option.
