Questions to ask when buying a holster

With so many holster makers in the marketplace, it can be overwhelming to choose. Many are putting out high-quality products while some of the big names are still selling junk.

If you’re brand new, take a recommendation from someone you trust. Look into the company and see if they are reputable and trustworthy. You might have to try a few different types to find what’s right for you.

Here are some questions to ask when choosing a holster:

  • Does this holster completely cover my trigger?

  • Does this holster have a high-quality clip?

  • Does this holster have enough retention to hold my firearm?

  • Does the holster manufacturer test fit with real firearms vs. molds?

  • Does the manufacturer have adequate years of experience?

  • Does the manufacturer have good reviews?

  • Does the manufacturer have accessible customer service?

A quality holster could save your life or prevent serious injury.

My go-to holster maker is Blacksmith Tactical. I’ve been using their holsters for almost five years and never had an issue.
