Glue-on nails prep

Top four questions in my Instagram DMs:

  1. How do you carry in leggings?

  2. What is your skincare routine?

  3. Which pistol do you carry?

  4. Can you tell me more about your nails?

😂 I love the C+T community and I love you ladies.

To answer a few frequently asked questions about my nails:

  1. My nails are always glue-ons. I’ve been wearing them for almost 3 years and will never go back to acrylics.

  2. I use a few different brands, but my go-to is Static and I only use their glue.

  3. They stay on 2-3 weeks as long as I prep my nails really good.

  4. Yes, one occasionally pops off and I just glue it back on.

Let’s talk about the prep because it makes a difference as to how long the nails will stay on so don’t skip this part.

  1. Wash your hands and nails really well. Make sure you’re using a soap that doesn’t have fragrance and won’t leave residue. We’re trying to get the dirt and oils off the nail beds.

  2. Push back your cuticles and trim off any hangnails. Get everything off your nail bed so the glue-ons can adhere.

  3. Wipe your nail beds down with acetone polish remover. I use a cotton ball and wipe each nail bed three times because mine are naturally oily and I wear a lot of lotion and oils.

  4. Lightly buff the nail bed. You don’t have to go hard here. Just grit them up a little bit.

  5. Put a little glue on your nail bed and let it dry for a few seconds so it gets tacky before you put the nail on.

  6. Put the nail on at an angle and try to push it under the cuticle slightly before pressing down.

  7. Hold the nail down for at least 60 seconds. The more pressure you can use, the better.

That’s it! Once you practice a few times it gets super easy. I can do a full set in under 20 minutes now.
