Four things women need to carry concealed

These are the four things you need to become a concealed carrier:

1. Permit

Permits or licenses vary from state-to-state so you’ll need to visit the state’s government website to find out how to apply and obtain your permit. Even if you live in a constitutional carry state, I’d suggest obta

2. Training

Certain states let you apply for and obtain a permit without training and I’m all for that. You still need training though so before you start carrying, seek out a qualified instructor. If you have no experience with firearms, start with a beginner class. If you feel comfortable with firearms, a refresher won’t hurt and you should also take a concealed carry.

3. Pistol

After your class you should know a little about which pistol you prefer. Hopefully your instructor let you try a few, but if not, go to your local range and rent several. It’s very affordable to do so and it will save you an expensive mistake. Once you’ve found one you like, buy it!

4. Holster

A crappy holster is the sole thing that prevented me from carrying consistently for over a year. Don’t skimp out on research or budget here. A quality holster should cost you between $50-$150. It’s going to house a firearm that could be the difference between life and death so treat this purchase with importance. You’ll likely need multiple types of holsters because we ladies like to wear a bunch of different outfits. That’s ok—get as many as you need!
