Sweaty hands solution

Sheesh. I just realized it’s been a month since I wrote you last. Time flies when you’re having fun working like crazy.

Recently I started writing articles for a couple of websites in the firearms industry and it’s been a lot of fun. And a lot of work. I wrote down a goal in January that said “get paid to write content in the firearms industry” and since I’ve officially received my first payment, I’m checking that off.

I’ll be sure to send links as the articles publish, but let me get to the point of this email.

I have sweaty hands. Not like regular sweaty hands either. VERY sweaty hands.

And if you’ve ever held a Glock, you know their standard grip texture is, well, not very grippy at all.

I’ve gone back and forth on getting my frame stippled. Mostly because it looks cool and you can choose a pattern which kind of threw me into analysis paralysis and I ended up scrapping the idea. For now.

Stippling is cool and useful. It’s also expensive and final. And depending on the aggressiveness of the texture, can shred up your clothes. Of course, I’m not discouraging you from doing it. Just giving my thoughts as I get asked about it from time to time.

I decided to give Raid Tape by GoonTape a try and after catching it in stock (it sells out FAST), I ordered all three colors.

I put the green on as soon as it came and it felt really great in my hands. It’s a stretchy, fabric tape, similar to hockey tape, but a bit thinner I think.

After a lot of dry-fire and one range trip, I decided I love it. It’s grippy and soft and moisture-wicking. My sweaty hands rejoice!

After some use it’s showing a bit of wear pattern, but not worn out in those spots. More like it’s just molded from handling it. I’m sure at some point it will wear out which is fine because it’s easy to remove and reapply. It comes in a large roll.

After holding my Glock 48 MOS, my husband decided to wrap two of his pistols as well and loved the feeling while shooting at the range.

It’s made in America and you can literally wrap anything that needs a little texture—rifle mags, tools, knives, etc.

It looks like black is in stock now and sometimes they have the three pack that I purchased. If you’re looking for an affordable, and temporary, but also tough solution, check them out.
