My Favorite Dry Fire Tool

One of my Casual+Tactical goals this year is to get more familiar with my rifle.

I love shooting rifles. Much more than pistols, actually. But I don’t do it as much because range trips are usually reserved for practicing with my EDC.

A few years ago, Mantis came out with the Blackbeard for dry fire, and I bought it right away. I’ve used it a ton, but not really worked on getting better with my rifle. I’m a serial mag dumper, and this just made it easy in dry fire.

Auto resetting trigger without having to run the charging handle? Yes, please.

Recently they came out with the Blackbeard X, which integrates analytics and feedback into the original system. I’ve used the X10 Elite with my pistols for years, and the feedback has helped me work on various issues. Perfect. Just what I’ve been looking for.

I’ve been using it for a few months and in my opinion, it’s worth the investment. The ammo savings alone will exceed the cost of this thing in a few sessions. The app has tons of interesting drills and the analytics are helpful. Plus, it’s just fun to use.

It takes only a minute to install. And it’s easy.

Which is important for someone like me who isn’t technical and can’t stand doing mechanical things.

From someone who’s still learning, this is a solid YES.

And from my husband, a Marine who’s very familiar with rifles, it’s also a solid YES.

Full disclosure, they sent this to me to review. I only do this for products I’d otherwise buy and believe in. I’ve spent many monies on Mantis products over the years and it’s all I use for dry fire.

I’m part of their affiliate network, which helps pay for my time spent making content, so if you’re inclined to buy from that link, I always appreciate it! 🖤
